About Birth&Flow

A bit about me The name My approach

Hello, I am Katharina

A registered midwife, a proud mother of two, and the founder of Birth and Flow.

With over 15 years of experience working in hospital settings, including both birth centres and doctor-led units, I have supported many women and families through pregnancy and birth. I witnessed repeatedly how powerful personalised support and nurturing care is on a woman's journey to motherhood.

Alongside my clinical work, my own journey into motherhood shaped the way I now support others. During my first pregnancy, I realised that while knowledge is important, what I also needed was a deeper connection to my body and a sense of emotional preparation. Pregnancy yoga became a powerful space for me to slow down and trust my body.

This experience inspired me to create Birth and Flow — a space to provide heartfelt, evidence-informed support that honours both the emotional and physical experience of becoming a mother. Birth is more than a moment in time; it is a profound transformation and important transition into motherhood.

I trained as a KGHypnobirthing teacher after witnessing, again and again, just how powerfully it impacted the couples I cared for in the maternity unit. Time after time I saw them grow more confident, more calm and more in control as they approached their birth — and I wanted to be able to offer that same preparation and reassurance to more families.

I also created my Pregnancy Circles because the modern world can leave us so isolated — so many of us no longer have the female family members or close friends nearby to nurture us through the precious time of pregnancy. I wanted to bring that sense of community back: a space to be held and supported, to gently release birth-related anxieties, and to share experiences with other pregnant women.

The name

Why Birth & Flow?

Birth is powerful and transformative; flow is the calm, the breath, and the trust that lets it unfold. Birth & Flow holds both — the strength of bringing your baby into the world, and the gentle, intuitive flow that carries you through. My hope is that every woman I support feels free to breathe, move and trust her body, so that birth can flow with more calm, confidence and grace.

"When you are fully prepared, you can truly let go — and trust your body to flow."Birth & Flow

What guides my care

My approach, in a few words

Evidence-based Holistic Personalised Calm & confident

Everything I share is grounded in current maternity research and over 15 years of clinical experience — so you can trust the information you're given.

My work combines professional experience with holistic, evidence-based techniques to support both body and mind.

Through antenatal courses, workshops, and pregnancy yoga, I now support women and their partners to feel confident, prepared, and empowered as they move into birth and early parenthood. I teach in person from Morden across South-West London — Wimbledon, Raynes Park, New Malden, Kingston, Worcester Park, Sutton, Cheam, Carshalton, Putney, Southfields, Wandsworth, Tooting, Balham, East Sheen, Barnes, Richmond, Fulham and Parsons Green — and my antenatal courses are also available online, worldwide.

I believe that when women feel safe, supported, and informed, they can approach birth with trust — allowing it to become a more positive and meaningful experience.
